Spread awareness of UN's sustainability goals
Team: Ellie Mcbain, Epifanio Pereira, Hsuan Lee, Leena Al-sallakh
Brief: As part of the Adobe Creativity Challenge, design and share a digital solution that promotes one or more of the 17 United Nations Sustainability Goals.
Solution: Our team decided to raise awareness for Goal 14: Life Below Water by creating a confronting shock video to warn people about the dangers of consuming microplastics from food and drink. The style of the video was done similarly to the “You Wouldn’t Steal a Car” ad, and we ended the video off with a call to action as if it were part of a series of UN sustainability commercials.

First Scene: Diving in
The video starts off with the scene of a cup of water on a table, the camera then submerges into the cup and makes the transition into the deep sea.
Second Scene: Drifting rubbish
A shot of a plastic water bottle floating in the ocean is followed by an animation showing the plastic breaking down into microscopic microplastics and floating in the sea.
Third Scene: Live-action transition
The video suddenly cuts out to the cup on the table, which has been replaced with a live-action shot of someone taking the cup, followed by drinking sounds.
Final Scene: Call to action
The screen cuts to black and sponsor images of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals appear, followed by the call to action "Let's leave this world better than we found it".
