FIRST STEP
Product Suite for Lower Limb Amputation
Team: Epifanio Pereira, Hsuan Lee, Peter Lin
Brief: Within the theme of Design + Health, investigate opportunities to produce a feasible design concept whilst producing a business case to launch the concept into the marketplace.
Solution: A holistic approach to creating a positive impact on an amputee’s post-amputation lifestyle through a combination of highly customisable prosthesis hardware, and seamless integration of supportive digital services. The physical Eevee model, the First Step app and the Shroud prosthetic cover are all combined into one comprehensive bundle.

Phase 1: First Step App
The First Step app serves as an all-in-one app that follows the users’ journey and offers support throughout their rehabilitation stage such as where to get funding and where to go for rehabilitation.
Phase 2: Eevee Prosthetic
The Eevee prosthetic empowers lower limb amputees by allowing users to wear a range of footwear options without requiring unique prosthetics through its adaptable mechanism design.
Phase 3: Shroud prosthetic cover
The Shroud is a procedurally generated and 3D printed aesthetic cover that lower limb amputees may slip over their Eevee prosthesis to customise their appearance, allowing them the choice of flashiness or discreetness.
